This local of the union was formed in 1896 by workers in the area concerned about unfair working conditions.
In 1938, we became officially charted by the International Brotherhood. This provided additional support and stability to our membership.
In 1957, the International Brotherhood joined with the United Brotherhood, creating the largest organization for union labor in our field.
Today, the local continues to provide unsurpassed support and assistance for local workers. Our reputation among local employers is great. Over 2,000 of the most skilled workers in our community are members of this local.
